Please upload your deliverables files in the CCAFS Intranet by clicking here. You may also access the folder by following the path:
  • Intranet Home >> Program Management Library >> Reviewing and reporting >> Annual Reporting >> TL and RPL Technical reporting >> 2013 THEMES/ >> T1

Please, keep it in mind that in order to add your deliverables to your CG Center/RPLs/THEMES folder, you should:
  1. Create a folder named with your activity ID (e.g. activity 508-2013)
  2. Inside the activity folder, create another folder named with your deliverable ID (e.g. deliverable 2)
  3. Upload your deliverables to the related folder.
  4. At the end of the process you should end up with something like the following:

Summary by outputs
Report4.png
Main Tip: Please provide a succinct summary of activities and deliverables that fall under the outputs listed below.

Output 1.1.1
Development of farming systems and production technologies adapted to climate change conditions in time and space through design of tools for improving crops, livestock, agronomic and natural resource management practices.

Output 1.1.2
Building of regional and national capacities to produce and communicate socially inclusive adaptation and mitigation strategies for progressive climate change at the national level (e.g. through NAPAs).

Output 1.2.1
Understanding and evaluating the response of different varieties/crops to climate change in time and space, and generating comprehensive strategies for crop improvement through a combination of modeling, expert consultation and stakeholder dialogue.

Output 1.3.1
Improved institutional arrangements and socially differentiated adaptation planning approaches at the local level to enable farming system adaptation.

Output 1.3.2
Public and private sector policies and strategies at the national level to enable farming communities and the food system to adapt to predicted future conditions.

Publications
Report5.pngMain Tip: Each Program Participant must list all publications resulting from an activity that acknowledges CCAFS support. Only include publications that came out in final version during the calendar year (not under review, submitted, etc., or out in electronic format ahead of print). All publications submitted in this form will go on into the CCAFS open access library at http://ccafs.cgiar.org/publications.

Citations must follow the name-year system, as illustrated on page 13 of the following guide:
http://ccafs.cgiar.org/sites/default/files/assets/docs/icraf-styleguide.pdf

Example:
[ICRAF] World Agroforestry Centre. 2004. Proceedings of the ICRAF Southern Africa – CIDA gender equality training workshop. Harare: World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) Southern Africa Programme.

Case Studies
Report8.png
Main Tip: The main use of the case studies is for CCAFS coordinating unit to use them as examples in reporting to donors and to the public. It has proven to be a good opportunity to showcase your work widely, or to grab new opportunities as they emerge. Features of a good case study would be:

  • An outcome beyond the project output and beyond the CGIAR
  • As much "evidence" as possible, particularly numbers
  • Any components that make a compelling storyline, such as a successful innovative approach to an old problem

The number of case studies to report depends on the budget size of the program (see explanatory notes on home page). Fill in the template below for an exemplary activity that demonstrates a) social differentiation and gender, b) successful communication, c) inter-center collaboration, d) innovative non-research partnerships, e) capacity enhancement or f) policy advocacy.

Outcomes
Report9.pngMain Tip: Provide a succinct summary of outcomes resulting from last year’s research as a whole. An outcome is use of the research by non-research partners to change policies and practices. In many cases the users of the research will be policy makers (or those influencing the policy process), national development agencies, service providers to farmers including non-governmental agencies, and sometimes farmers themselves. Number of outcomes that must be reported depends on budget size (see explanatory notes on home page).

What is the outcome of the research (i.e. use of research results by non-research partners)?
What outputs produced in the three preceding years resulted in this outcome?
What partners helped in producing the outcome?
Who used the output?
How was the output used?
What is the evidence for this outcome? Specifically, what kind of study was conducted to show the connection between the research and the outcome? Who conducted it? Please provide a reference or source.

Outcome Indicators
Report11.png
Main Tip: Describe in less than 100 words per cell the nature of the achievement. Also provide the evidence (state nature of evidence and cite a paper, website, report etc). The details of the excellent outcomes should be described under the Outcomes section.

Theme 1 Indicators
1 One to five flagship technical and/or institutional approaches identified and developed with farmers, key development and funding agencies (national and international), civil society organizations and private sector in three regions, which would directly enhance the adaptive capacity of the farming systems to the climate change conditions
Achievements summarised:
Evidence:

2 Breeding strategies of regional and national crop breeding institutions in three target regions are coordinated, informed by CCAFS-led crop modeling approaches that are developed and evaluated for biotic and abiotic constraints for the period 2020 to 2050
Achievements summarised:
Evidence:

3 Integrated adaptation strategies for agricultural and food systems inserted into policy and institutional frameworks at regional, national or sub-‐national level in 2 target regions. Policy makers and key stakeholders use CCAFS research outputs - guidelines, tools and methods-‐ to support the development of NAPAS, sector specific adaptation plans, or germplasm benefit sharing policies.
